MADRID IN AN UPROAR.
More Riotous Demonstrations—Mob Charged by Police—A Number of Persons Injured. Madrid, April 12.—Numerous groups in the Puerta del Sol and In front of tne office of the minister of the Interior Monday evening raised the cry “ViVa Espana!”-The gendarmes and police scattered them and occupied the square, but the groups quickly re-formed several times, until finally the gendarmes charged the crowd. Many were injured or arrested. Senor Aguilera, the civil governor, called out the civil guard to clear the street. Throughout the evening demonstrations continued in various quarters. The police and gendarmes repeatedly dispersed large crowds. Calm was finally restored, but the gendarmes at midnight were patrolling the streets and other precautions were maintained. The captain general of Madrid has ordered Gen. Bourbon de Castelvl confined in a fortress for two months for addressing the demonstrators on Sunday night. Gen. Blanco cabled the government Inquiring if he ought to declare tn his decree that the suspension of hostilities mas In deference to the wishes of the pope and the powers. The government replied that he might do so, and the decree granting the armistice was published Monday morn--111 ;.
