The City Conventions.
A Good Attendance And A Good Ticket. The Ticket. For Councilman Ist Ward FRANK B. MEYER For Councilman 2nd Ward JOHN C. PORTER For Councilman 3rd Ward WALLACE ROBINSON The Republicans of Rensselaer held their various ward conventions Wednesday evening. The turn out was good, and the work they had to do was performed in an eminently satisfactory manner. THE FIRST WARD The First Ward convention met in the city hall. C. W. Coen was chairman and J. F. Warren secretary. A ward committee for the campaign, was chosen as follows: G. E. Murray, Frank Minicus, C. W. Blue, T. J. Sayler, Ancil Woodworth. The matter of selecting members of the election board was left to the above committee. For candidate for councilman, Frank B. Meyer, the present member, was renominated. Out of 39 votes cast he received 25. The others were given to W. L. Wishard J. C. Harris. THE SECOND WARD The second ward convention met in the sheriff’s office at thecourt house. J. M. Wasson was chairman and E. D. Rhoades secretary. A ward campaign committee was elected as follows: J. L. English, J. H. S. Ellis, S. C. Irwin, J. M. Wasson, Abel Grant. The following were recommended for members of the election board. Judge. J. F. Antrim Clerk J. F. Warren Sheriff , E. H. Morlan Poll Book H01der...... Ed Irwin For candidate for councilman J. C. Porter, the retiring member, was renominated-by acclamation. THIRD WARD. The Third Ward met in the east court room, C. W Hanley was chairman and L. H. Hamilton secretary. The committee of five was the following. E. A. Aldrich, Henry Grow, J. C. Carmichael, R. W. Sprigg, Burgess Dillon. Members of election board were recommended as follows: Judge 8. E. Yeoman Clerk J. N. Leatherman Sheriff Burgess Dillon Poll Book Holder.... D. E. Grow For candidate for councilman, Wallace Robinson, the retiring member, was renominated. Mr. Robinson received 29 votes, John Kressler 8, J. N. Leatherman 2, J. C. Thrawls 2, E. A. Aldrich 2. Total 43.
