Richmond, Va., April ..9.—News is received here of the death at his home in Front Royal. Warren ceunty, of ex-Con-gressman S. S. 1 nrner. He was elected to congress In 1893 to fill the vacancy | caused by the election of O*Ferrell to the gubernatorial chair. He declined to stand for reelection because, while still adhearing to the democratic party.' he was not in harmony with it on the currency question. He was a gallant' confederate soldier.
