Mining Our Harbors.

New York, April 7.—The engineering corps, under direction of Col. Henry M. Robert, has begun operations for the submarine mining of the entrances to New York and other harbors along the Atlantic coast. The mining fields for this harbor will be off Sandy Hook, between Fort Wadsworth and Fort Hamilton and at the eastern entrance to Long Island sound. It w-111 only take seven hours to completely mine this harbor.
