“Uncle Tom’s Cabin” Again.
The Cook Twin Sisters have secured possession of the Ellis’opera house Tuesday evening March 2'.), in order to give the Rensselaer public an opportunity to see their spectacular and mammoth production of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” The dramatization of Mrs. Stowe’s historical story has ever been a favorite with the women and children, and they always go to see the performance, no matter what the grade of excellence may be. The Cook Twin Sisters are said to give the best production of the old play seen in Rensselaer in a long time. The organization is headed by the famous sisters themselves. The characters of Uncle Tom, Eliza, Little Eva and Marks, are ably presented, and (ho large corps of colored singers and dancers, bloodhounds, etc., give a realism to the performance. The scenic and mechanical effects are good, and the picturesque transformation scene forms a fitting close to the whole.
