The Coming Entertainment.
The Rathbone Sisters’ benefit will be given Monday night, March 28, at Ellis’ Opera House. The extravaganza “Fantasia” will be produced by fifty local celebrities assisted by the talented Press Woodruff the “Arkansaw” humorist. No time has been spared to make the affair a perfect success. The costumes for this entertainment will be beautiful; made on the Greek plan, and elaborately trimmed in gold, silver and jewels. They will greatly aid the superb stage setting in creating a magnificent splendor when played upon by the calcium lights. The ladies have lost no time in their effort to make this the greatest entertainment ever given in Rensselaer. If you are in need of a real hearty laugh Mr. Woodruff will surely make you glad that you had a front seat. Of him the San Francisco Examiner says: “He is the funniest man that ever appeared in the “Golden Gate City.” Tickets on sale at Huff’s.
