The Official Test

Of The Waterworks Made Thursday Morning. The official test of the waterworks was made Thursday morning. According to the test required, the pumps were set to work and a uniform pressure of 130 pounds per square inch was maintained for two hours. Then four one inch nozzles were attached to three different hydrants and all of them, playing at once, threw streams 70 feet high After the test an inch and a quarter nozzle to a single hose, and the court house roof was drenched by a powerful stream. The test is understood to have been entirely satisfactory. The test was under the direct supervision of Mr. Horton, the principal contractor.
