A Powerful Pressure.

The Watei Tested And Found All Right. The new waterworks were put through a good test Monday and proved to be everything that could be desired, in respect to fire purposes. The tank had about 20 feet of water in it, and the first test was made with that alone. Two hydrants were opened and to one a 1J inch hose, and to the other a one inch were attached. Both threw powerful streams, far above any business building in town. The tank pressure was then turned off and direct pressure only used. Threw even stronger streams than did the tank pressure. It was tried on the court house, and water thrown clear to the clock dail, on the tower. There is no question but what the waterworks are all right and that we are now in splendid shape for fighting fires.
