Fredline Was Released.

David Fredline; charged with passing a forged check on the Chicago Bargain Store, had his trial late Thursday afternoon, before Squire Burnham. The evidence that he was the man who passed the check was pretty clear, but a number of his relatives and acquaintances testified that he was rather “weak in the upper story.” He also has a family to support with his labor, and the Squire therefore reached the wise conclusion that a verdict of acquittal, tempered with a sound lecture, about fitted the circumstances of the case. The loss to the Bargain Store was made good by Fredli lie’s friends.
