RENSSELAER, INDIANA. To Township Officers Greeting: We are now nearing the end of the First Qr. ’9B and soon the Second will be upon us. We are proud of what was accomplished last year, but we want to see greatei things done this year. The question is how can we do it? Simply by going to work ourselves and getting others to work. The next question is, What’s to be dene? We will tell you—viz: First: See that every school in your Tp., is organized and in working order. Don’t fail on this point! Second: Get your Home Class Supt., to work if he or she won’t. Appoint some one who will talk it up and make it go! Third: If your Tp., was not canvassed last year, see to it as quickly as possible, and have it canvassed without fail. Fourth: Those Tps. which have not already held their spring conventions will be expected to hold one between now and the Ist. of June. So that it can be reported to State Convention. Fifth: See that the blank reports sent you, are properly filled out and sent to Co. Sec’y., W. C. Smalley, Remington Ind. I Sixth: Whenever possible organize new schools. Dear Co. workers —We desiro to thank you for your hearty cooperation during the past .year. God has spared, cared for, and protected us thus far; let us trust "Him more and serve Him better No other field offers us greater opportunities than does the Sunday school. Let us do our best to gather in the sheaves for the Master —for He says “Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” Let us live close to God every day, that our daily walk and conversation maybe such as will meet with His divine approval and will show to the world that we have learned of Him. C. W. Farris, W. C. Smalley, Co Pres. Co. Sec’y.
McCOYSBURG.
Lan McDonald and wife, Mr. Carpenter and wife, of Monticello, visited friends and relatives here and at Pleasant Ridge over Saturday and Sunday. Chas. McDonald, south of here, is Blowly improving from his recent serious illness, but the dootor says he ought not to go out for at least one year. Fish are coming up in great numbers in the state ditch, one of the boys caught 10 the other day, weighing about 4£ lbs. each. Bennie Ward, son of Jno. Ward, met with a very severe accident last Tuesday. His father and mother went to town and left him and an older brother at home and tho boys filled an iuk bottle with powder, laid it in a stump and put a lighted match to it causing it to explode when Bennie’s face was just over it. He is suffering very much and lias been unable to see since it occurred, and it is feared he will lose one eye and perhaps both. Checkers is the principle game of the day, now. Gwin & Phillips have it “Nip and Tuck.” Born, to Mr. 1 lift and wife, a daughter, last Tuesday. Barney Iliff got his hair cut the other night, which is good evidence of tho rumor afloat that his girl is coming up from Monon next Sun. day. I have private funds to loan on real estate at low rates for nny length of time. Funds are always on hands and there is no delay—no examination of land, no sending papers east —absolutely no red tape. Why do you wait on insurance companies for G months for your money? I also loan money for short times at current bank rates. Funds always on hand.

SCOFF AND COUGH. The man who scoffs at the friendly advice to “take something for that cough,” will keep on coughing until he changes his mind or changes his earthly residence. A great many scoffers have been converted by the use of the standard remedy—Carter’s Cough Cure. But some are scoffing yet; they wheeze with asthma, bark with bronchitis or groan with the grippe. Singular, isn’t it? the number of stubborn people, who persist in gambling with health and perhaps life as the stake, when they might be effectually cured of cough, cold or lung trouble, by a few doses of Carter’s Cough Cure. Price 25c. GOOD FOR THE CHILDREN. Carter’s Cascara Cordial is a most efficient remedy for children’s diseases. It sweetens the stomach and relieves flatulency, strengthens and tones the bowels, aids digestion, de.stroys and prevents worms, makes pure blood, gives a healthy appetite and refreshing sleep.
