James Babcock was in town Friday. Soott Harrington and family of DeMotte, visited relatives and friends here Friday and Saturday. Stella Ott of Chicago Heights, is
the guest of B. D. McColly and wife, Chas. Vanarsdall "has moved back to Union Tp., after a two years sojourn in the neighborhood of Lee. W. L. Wood of Parr, has purchased of ex-postmaster Kesler of this place the old postoffico cabinet for the Parr postoffice. W. C. Babcock of Rensselaer, was in town Friday with money to throw at birds, but G. Kight sold him 8,000 bushels of corn and Billy quit throwing and went home. Nine of our boys rode the Odd Fellow’s goat at Mt. Ayr last meeting night. They all look wise but say nothing. A. N. Wills and son are making a good ditch with their dredge, they are throwing the dirt all on one side thus making a good graded road at the wne time and with the same expense to land owners. Oscar Harman met with a serious accident Monday. He was moving some furniture when his team became frightened and ran away. He was thrown out of the wagon ”&nd his shoulder badly knocked out. A resident Dr. is a good thing. Dr. Prandely of Chicago, has opened an office in R. W. Schofield’s building. He comes here well recommended and we predict a bright future with plenty of practice. A good doctor is a thing that Fair Oaks has loqg needed sure.
