The Steel Range Steal.

The wrought iron range fakirs are canvassing this part of Newton county. They have not canvassed this section before for spmetime. A little plain talk concerning these men and their methods is not out of place. They sell a fairly good range, no better, however, than is for sale in every hardware store in Kentland, Goodland, Brook, Morocco, Mt. Ayr, Rose Lawn, or any other town in Newton county. Many assert they are not as good, There is not a hardware dealer in the county that will not sell a range of equal, if not better, merit thun the ono they are selling,- for from $25.00 to $48.00. The traveling fakes are charging $69.00. We submit that it is an yisnlt to

every farmer in the county for these non-resident agents to attempt to sell them goods at double the price charged by home dealers. —Kentland Enterprise. The Republican has already repeatedly warned the people of Jasper county to be on their guard against these steel range people, and not to pay them about double the price for which as good or better article could be bought for, in almost ahy town in the cottnty.
