The Hose is Here.

The hose for the fire department arrived from Chicago, last night. It was brought down today and tried on the hydrant nipples and fitted all right. Therefore we are in pretty good shape for fight fire, even if * the waterworks tower is still unfinished. There is always steam under the boilers at the waterworks, and direct pressure can be utilized for throwing water, at any time, on a very short notice.
