Dissatisfied With The Building.
The City Council held a special meeting Saturday evening, to consider some matters connected with the new waterworks building. In the absence of the mayor, Dr. Alter presided. The slate roof on the waterworks building is said to be very unsatisfactoy. It is said to be uneven, ridged up in places, and even some of the slates already getting loose and sliding off. Great dissatisfaction was also expressed with the carpenter work inside the building, and the cement floor was claimed to have not been according to specification. One or two of the councilmen expressed themselves with great freedom with the way in which the $5 a day superintendent has looked after his work. A committee consisting of Spitler, Meyer and Porter was appointed to examine into the nlleged defects of the building.
