Dr. G. Wiley Broome of St. Louis says that city has “cyclonic neurosis.” Thomas Caffery was shot and fatally wounded by Joseph Byeues during a saloon fight at Tracy, Cal. June 14 has been fixed as the date for the convention in Detroit of the National Association of Labor Commissioners. The executive committee of the National Live Stock Association has decided to hold the next convention in Denver Jan. 23, 1899. The Ewart building, n five-story structure at 11 to 23 Jefferson street, Chicago, was destroyed by fire. The loss will amount to $200,000.
