Sunday School Column
CONDUCTED
BY W. C. SMALLEY,
REMINGTON, INDIANA. “Only that is important which is eternal.” Most all the good Christians were made in the Sunday School before they were twenty one years of age. Union Township has five good church buildings and all are doing good work. At Brushwood a wonderful meeting was held this winter. Surely to drive 4hrough a township and see so many churches ! indicates the character of the peo- j pie living in it. Fair Oaks has lost a noble Sunday school worker in Bro. Blue who has recently moved to Attica, in this state. We shall miss him i but know he will help the work in liis new home and what is our loss is Attica’s gain, Attica is in a county that has a double Banner. We want to ask a personal question of every one who has the success of the Sunday school at heart. What are you doing to help your school? If a Supt.—does your school grow? If a teacher do you follow Paul’s advice to Timothy “Study to show thyself an approved workman? If a soholar do you have your lessons? The Bible is an inspired book but it does not inspire a way of learning for the scholar. It must be studied as other books are studied in order to be acquired. When its truths are gained in this way it inspires life. Union Township comes very near getting a Banner this time. Five out of her six schools are evergreen which is a very healthy condition but could have been made a little better by putting the' “canned” school into the House Class. Dept, for the winter quarter and in so doing got a Banner. We are sure Township President Blankenbaker would have done, this if he had known it in time. It takes a great deal of visiting to keep in touch with all the schools in the Township but it is noble work. We trust the thirteen (there is luck in thirteen) Township Presidents are doing the very best work they can this year as we want to have every thing in the best possible shape beforo our next state codyention. Dear Presidents don’t fail to see that the statistical report is properly made out by each school and returned to the county Sect’y. They have not yet been sent to the schools. Remember these reports will go to the World’s Sunday School Convention at London, Eng., our own State convention and the International convention at Atlanta, Ga., next winter so you see they are very important. They will be sent to the several schools but if they are not returned promptly you will bo asked to see that they are properly filled out and returned.
