C. E. Harlucher lias moved his f family to Monticello. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stokes have a son —a recent acquisition. The Presbyterian meetings closed last week on account of tho illness of one their preachers who has expected to come—but was unable to be here. Tlie Christian people will begin a series of meetings next Tuesday the 25th. Mr. Pounds, better known as tlie “husband of, Jessie Brown’’ will conduct them, John Phelps shipped a car load of horses to Chicago last week, E. O. Sharpe is to be here next week with a set of Stereoptican views —illustrating Wallace’s Ben Hur. Mrs. Clapp who fell and injured one of her limbs about seven weeks ago died Tuesday morning, after weeks of dreadful suffering The funeral services were held at the resi denee of her daughter Mrs. Gray. Interment in our cemetery.
