Injunction Made Perpetual.
Judge Palmer Makes a Sweeping Order in The Tax Ferret Case. The Defendants Take Au Appeal To The Supreme Court. The trial of the tax ferret injunction case, was concluded Friday afternoon and resulted in a sweeping decision by Judge Palmer in favbr of the plaintiffs, and against the tax ferrets and the county commissioners. ifudge Palmer’s finding does not enter into uny extended discussion of the merits of the case, and the law thereen as did Judge Thompson, in making the temporary injunction. He finds each of the material allegations of the plaintiff’s complaint are true; and decides in effect that there is no luw by which commissioners can hire experts to look up and collect delinquent taxes or other moneys coming to the county, at any price whatever. He declares that the contracts of Nov. 17th and Nov. 30t.h, made by the commissioners are null and void and declared cancelled: and the defendants are perpetually enjoined from proceeding under them. The commissioners are enjoined from making any similar contracts, and the auditor and treasurer are enjoined from drawing or paying warrants to the defendants for their work. The usual motions for a new trial and for arrest of judgement were over-ruled. The defendants then took an appeal to the Supreme court and furnished the necessary bond of $l5O, wHich was signed by W. F. Townseucf and J. J. Hunt. Ninety days are given in which to perfect the appeal to the Supreme Court. The appeal will be perfected, and pushed as vigerously as possible.
