Cast iron stoves for hard coal, though In many ways desirable because they make an even temperature possible, may Im* the source of much danger in Ignorant hands. If the drafts nre not properly turned carbonic acid gna and sulphurous fumes may imur Into the room, nnd in n sleeping-room may smother the alumberera before they nre nware of their danger. Three per cent of carbonic acid gas in the air of a room Is fatal to nnlmnl life, ntttl a largesited bnsejjurner will not take long to supply this percentage In n close room.
