The Firemen's Benefit.

The performance at the opera house, for the benefit of the Rensselaer fire company, had a very fine attendance/ and was a truly excellent show. Some enthusiastic auditors declare that they never attended a better in our opera house. The play “The Hermit” was put on in fine shape. Mr. and Mrs. Parks, in the two leading roles, were admirable in every respect, but scarcely less so in degree than some of our home talent in the other parts. The band furnished excellent music. The performance netted the fire company about $72, above all expenses.
