Prof. Boone’s Hypnotic Entertainment.
An enormous audience attended Prof. Boone’s hypnotic and mind reading entertainment at the opera house Tuesday night. A great variety of performances usual in such entertainments were given, including many odd and amusing acts of hypnotized subjects, also some remarkable min<l reading feats by the Prqfessor; such as finding hidden articles etc. ;. . One performance was the placing of Douglas, the understudy in a perfectly rigid condition, while supported only by his head on one chair and his feet on another, placing upon his body an enormous rock, so large that two strong men
could hardly lift it. While the rock was thus lying on Douglas’ stomach it was broken in two by J. W. Burgett by repeated blows with a heavy iron sledge. Pro. Boone also preformed various slate writing and other spiritualistic acts, and explained how they were done.
