Jlr. Johnson. a Lafayette Editor, is Being Talked of for Congress. Thursday’s Indianapolis News gives the following political gossip concerning the Tenth district, but don’t give the mimes of its authors. “Tenth district Republicans who have visited the city this week say the party will probably ask Francis Johnson,'of Lafayette, to be a candidate for the nomination for congress in opposition to Congressman Crumpacker. Mr. Johnson is the editor of a German paper at Lafayette, and is spoken of as a scholarly man. Within the last three months two or three consulships have been offered him through Congressman Crumpacker and Senator Fairbanks. and he has declined each offer.”
