Too Aggressive Officials
The spirit of the county superintendents 1 meeting at Indianapolis is that the truancy officers are too aggressive and have done harm in trying to nurse their jobs. It is believed that township trustees should take ihe duties of truancy officers; alstf that the compulsory education law age should be extended to 16 years. This criticism of truancy officers in general, does not apply to all of them of course. Our own truanfey officer, J. P. Hammond, whose district is the whole county hqs been very conservative in enforcing the law and has not made it obnoxious or burdensome in any ay. , tfe>jMk'ervwli<Te.
