Rev. Duncan’s Downfall.
Rev. Kenneth R. Duncan, who some 10 or 12 years ago was pastor of the Rensselaer Presbyterian church here, for a while, and was a brilliant young man, has had a varied career since leaving here. He went to the Pacific Slope and finally engaged in mission work in the slums of San Francisco, and for a time was getting a great repreputation. He got on the downward road however, and finally landed in the lunatic asylum. He is now heard from in another role, as will be seen from this brief telegraphic paragraph from Thursday’s Chicago Tribune: Kenneth Duncan, formerly a brilliant young preacher, who was sent to an insane asylum some months ago, is now in jail at San Jose as a common thief. He was given a short leave of absence by the asylum authorities, as he seemed entirely sane. He ran away, and was not seen again till arrested today. Many articles of jewelry and some money was found on his person. He will be sent back to the asylum.
