Considerable of sickness in this locality. Mr. John Frazee lost 3 head of cattle one night last week by the giving way of a part of a straw stack and smothering them. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lakin intend going to Chicago Thursday. Mrs. Lena Bennet, of Wis., was the guest of her brother, Alec Hurley and family a part of last week.... Mr. and Mrs. William Deere who have been visiting relatives in this vicinity returned to their home at Monon the first of the week. A dance was given at Mr. Daniel Hart’s residence Christinas eve.
Look out for a wedding soon. Miss Eva Barker is sick with chicken-pox. Several of the young folks around Blackford attended the Christmas tree at Virgie Christmas eve. Mr. Harvey Huffman and Miss Maggie Lenzbach of Fowler, were the guests of the Miss Schroer’s Christmas. Miss Jennie Marlatt who has been residing with her brother John Marlat of near Blackford has gone to visit relatives in Illinois. Mr. Elias Arnold is very low with lung fever. Services were held at the dunkard church Christmas day and evening. Mr. Jacob Myers and family are visiting Mr. Jim Cavender and family of Walker Tp. at the present
