Jag For a Jag.

Jim Newcomb brought to town Friday a jag of wood which he traded for another jag—which proved in the out come to be an awful load of O’-be-joyful. He sold (he wood and hitched his team in the rear of Porter & Wishard’s store and then proceeded to soak up as much whiskey as his hide would hold. When be had gotten a sufficient amount aboard he started for his team to go home, but became confused and got in a wagon with a fellow who was as drunk as himself. They had? no t proceeded far until Newcomb fell out and his companion drove on and left him. Sometime after he was found by William Moore in a frozen condition, and it was with considerable difficulty that he was thawed out. He was placed in jail but was released next morning without fine.
