Look up, lift up, but never give up- ; A school that habitually begins one minute late will soon begin two minutes late. Every thing else being equal that Sunday School is the best where most attention is paid to the little details. < There is to be a meeting of the Executive Committee and Sunday School workers of Newton County at Brook, Dec. 29th. Consider yo&rself invited and go over and help. I wonder how many copies of the Awakener-our state papercomes to our county? It ought to come regularily to every Sunday School family once a month. The price is so low we cannot afford to be without it. It has the right name too as it never fails to awaken new ideas about the work, tty it. Write C. D. Meigs, 1113 Central Ave. Indianapolis for sample copy. We sometimes think we are made better by suffering. Indeed we are. I know of a father and mother being led into the church through the death of a daughter. But are we not made better many times by gentleness? Often when we are alone and think over our mercies we say to ourselves this is better than I deserve. When we are spending a pleasant evening with our family, when we look into the faces of our children who think we are the embody ment of all that is good we see their trust and faith in us are we not shamed info living better lives? It is God's gentleness to make us better.
