Doing wrong always kills something in your own soul. Carpenter Township will bo reported a Banner Township next year. Eight schools and every one are evergreen. How many Township presidents will join us ? “The devil has a hard fight to hold his own in a home where there is a praying mother or in a class when there is a praying teacher." We are glad to note the interest mainfested by our assistant County Sec., Mrs. Mamie Williams Porter, in stirring up a convention in Hanging Grove township. By the way we don’t hear the wind (mill) blowing very much in Barkley. How about it Bro. Perkins? A good Bible with ample helps should be in the hands of every scholar especially is it necessary that the teacher shall have one. One of the greatest sources of inspiration any teacher can have is perfect familliarity with the Word itself. If an artist makes a mistake and spoils a piece of canvas it is easy to get another piece and begin over again. If a sculptor strikes a careless blow and spoils his piece of marble he too can get another piece and begin over again. But what if a Sunday School teacher makes a mistake and mars or breaks the material on which she or he is working. What then. An egotist is foredoomed to failure in the Sunday School. The worker who hopes for success must cast to the winds any foolish pride in originality and hunt far and wide for the freshest methods. A Superintendent or a teacher without a note book is only half a Superintendent or teacher. Its pages should grow rich with plunder. This little white friend must be at hand when he attends a convention, when he talks with other workers and when he thinks and prays over his scared tasks so says Amos R. Wells in bis S. S. book success. This is a splendid point to bear in mind. We meet with so many little instances in our daily work that suggest a thought or an illustration we can use in the school next Sunday. And when we read we see so many beautiful little paragraphs we want to remember and these we should ever be ready to jot down for future use. D. L. Moody's Bibles are vast note books it is said. He has them interleaved for this purpose What a store of useful information our schools could collect in a few years in this way.
