The electric railroad survey, which reached Monticello a few days ago, did riot proceed any further southwestward at this time, but the surveying party returned to Bourbon, and Tuesday they began the survey of the route by the way of Lake Maxinkukee, Monterey and Winamac, and from there southwestward. The survey by Monticello found surh an excellent and easy route, that if the road goes to Monticello at all it will be over that route, and not touch Winamac, as the to Monticello route is over a bad country and would require two big bridges over the Tippecanoe river. Thus it appears that Winamac is not in it unless Rensselaer is also in it. Furthermore the Fowler people have no surer cinch on the road than has Winamac, for it is evident that if it goes to Monticello it will almost surely not go to Fowler. Therefore the towns of Winamac, Francesville,Rensselaer, Remington and Fowler are all in the same boat and must stand or fall together. They should all realize this fact and pull together better than they have done yet.
