They Reach Monticello.
Thursday’s Monticello Journal: To the surprise of most of our people the surveying party on the proposed electric railroad completed their survey to Monticello this afternoon. The route surveyed passes through Rochester, Star City, Headlee, Buffalo and thence down the gravel road to Monticello. Chief Engineer Klingen is enthusiastic over the route, saying that it is one of the best he has ever surveyed. The survey stopped at the Dunkleberger school house, leaving the route from there into town to be decided hereafter. A committee of citizens from town met the engineering corps at the terminus this afternoon and escorted them into town. After
they had dinner Engineer Klingan was taken in a buggy as far southwest as George Wolverton’s to give bim an idea of the country in that direction. They then started on their return trip, expecting to stop over night in Buffalo.
