Kansas Is All Right
The reports in the new papers of better times in Kansas are not political fakes, by any means, but the blessed truth, and The Republican receives frequent direct confirmation of that truth, from its Kansas subscribers. Here, for instance, are some extracts from a letter by that well known exJasperite, “Cash” Hopkins, of Greensburg, Kiowa Co, “This is the first year since Grover got in command that we could pay 10 cents on the dollar. People are now paying their old debts. We have over 50,000 head of cattle in our county this winter, and everybody is feeling good. We had a good wheat and rye crop, that put us all up again. People who see your paper say it is the best county paper they ever saw. My neighbors get your paper from me every week. Yours truly
C. M. HOPKINS.
