This Is Probably A Fake.

Special to The Indianapolis News. Hammond, Ind., December 7. — Hidden under a clump of scrub oak, near the southern extension of the Chicago, Hammond & Western railway, late yesterday afternoon, track laborers found the badly decomposed body of a welldressed man. The body was in a crouching position, and indications are that the man committed suicide by cutting his throat. All marks and letters by which the man could be indentified had been burned under a tree near by. A gold watch and SBOO in bank bills

were found stowed away in a waist coat pocket. The valuables were turned over to the coroner of Cook county, Illinois, who will make a search for the relatives of the dead man. Several points in the abover dispatch made many persons think the alleged suicide might be GeoH. Brown. But the investigatiftns being made now by C. W. Coen, point to the conclusion that the whole story is a fake.
