WHEATFIELD.
W. E. Sweeny, of Hebron transacted business here last Thursday and Friday. A gentleman 'Was here one day last week, solicting subscription® for a free silver democratic paper to b» published at Rensselaer. We understand he had good success. H. Marble is putting in a new sett of hay scales on his property on Main street. Ihe K of P lodge of this' place% gave an oyster supper to its members! and a lot of brave Knights from DeMotte, \Y ednesday evening;. They all report a good time. John Muffley ca ne to town last Friday loaded w.th apple jack; and commenced to paint the town - crimson. Marshal Brown landed, him in the cooler and kept him there nntil Saturday morning, when he let him out. Muffley went home a soberer if not a wiser man. Ward Hamilton and W T m. Brown spent Sunday in Rensselaer. Mr. Morts an old resident of tbm township and living miles south of town, died Thursday night. The cause of his death was a cancer of the stomach. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Catholic church. Interment in the Catholic cemetery. The entertainment given Frufoy night was not very well attended. It just about paid expenses. George Davisson and family of Barkley tp., spent Sunday at A Barlow’s. Mrs. Watson, living out by Center school house, and who has been qaite sick for some time, died Sunday morning. 11. Marble, John Pinter, Ed and John Myers attended the sugar beet convention at North Tuesday. Dr. Schwier was at Rensselaer last Tuesdav.
