Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 19, Number 26, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 3 December 1897 — A False Rumor. [ARTICLE]
A False Rumor.
A rumor was in circulation here yesterday, that George H. Brown’s whereabouts were known, and that he had written to his wife, from some place in the west, and that the relatives here had been informed of the fact. The rumor was entirely without foundation. The latest heard here from Mrs. Brown was a letter received Monday night, in which she stated that she had heard nothing, and that as soon as she did, she would telegraph the facts here. While it is now the general opinion that Mr. Brown is alive and will yet be heard from, no word has been received from him as yet.
