McCOYSBURG. A school meeting was held here last Friday evening to sell the wood for next year. Jno. Ward secured the contract at $2.00 per cord. He is to furnish eight cords. McCoy and Gilmore shipped a load of fat hogs to Chicago last Tuesday night. Noble York of Monon ahd’T'ME' Williams, a “Judy Representative,” of Judyville, were in this town Wednesday and dined at the HotelJames Overton was here on legal business Wednesday. Elvia Gwin is spending this week here with her aunt. Renicker Brethers set out 260 fruit trees for “Uncle Mac” this week. There is a small nursery surrounding the Hotel. Mr. Rhineheart bought 159 bead of fat cattle of Thompson and Yeoman which will weigh about 1400 lbs. apiece. He paid $4.30 for them and they were shipped from here to Boston, and thence, will go to London. It seems like winter is almost here, at last. Institute convened at 10 o’clock a. m. last Saturday with the full corps of teachers and several visitors present. The usual good interest was manifested. Supt, Hamilton was present.
