Short Lived Liberty.
Tuesday’s Daily: Sheriff Reed and Jailor Joyner have gone to Sheldon, 111., today., to bring back John and Charles Jones who “yumped their yob” at the yail, Saturday night. They were caught at Sheldon by “Old Sleuth” Graves, of Wheatfield, he having been notified by the sheriff of their escape, and of the offer of §25 for their recapture. John evidently had a pretty good tip as to the way they had gone, and he got there in time to head them off. We don’t expect that the Jones will like their job in jail a little bit after this. They will get no treatment as trusties, it is safe to say, and if there is any rock-pile left to pound they will undoubtedly have a chance to pound every week day while their sentence lasts.
