Adjourned to Pick Turkeys.

The waterworks building and court house filling jobs are adjourned today to give Jake McDonald a chance to pick his Thanksgiving crop of turkeys, and incidentally to

let the surplus water run of. “When turkeys are ripe they ought to be plucked” is an evident fact, and some 30 or 40 men are putting that truth into practice at Jake’s place today. The whole waterworks force is said to be there, although if Contractor Horton, subContractor Synon, and Superintendent Rooney' are among the number of turkey snatchers and rippers our reporter failed to notice them when the place was visited this morning. Mr J McDonald received over 1200 turkeys Monday, and judging by the constant string of wagons unloading that record will be equalled today.
