Supposed Gobbler of Gobblers Gets Gobbled.

Wednesday’s Daily: One Jim Hart, now of the Gifford district, formerly of near Remington, was arrested in town yesterday afternoon, by Constable Lyman Zea, on the complaint of George Daniels, of Barkley Tp., who charged him with stealing and selling his turkeys. Mr. Daniels had been missing his turkeys, and Wednesday he came to town and took a look through the paltry pens of B. S. Fendig. He recognized two big turks as his property and told Mr. Fendig that if he would catch the birds he would find them marked by having the right toe of each right foot cut off. The birds were caught and proved to be marked as claimed, and Mr. Fendig remembered having bought them of Hart. The latter when asked about where he got the turks denied having ever sold any to Fendig, but the latter dot only identified Hart positively as ths man he had bought the turkeys from, but turned to his check book and showed where he had given a check to Hart when the trade was made. Hart’s trial began last evening, before Squire Burnham, but was continued until this afterooon, and not concluded when we went to press.
