Fast Time Made.
Train No. 33 of the Monon made a flying trip Sunday. From Cedar Lake to Indianapolis the average of each mile made was fifty-two seconds. The fastest mile was made in forty-nine and one-half seconds. Thomas Cline was the engineman and Col. “Abe” Angle was in charge of the train. A remarkable feature was that at times the train had to face a heavy wind. The run was made with one of the new big engines recently added to the company’s equipment, and which are attracting wide spread attention from mechanical engineers all over the country.
