A Ball With Many Balls.

The entertainment given by the Womens Relief Corps, Wednesday evening, was quite liberally patronized, and was fleartily enjoyed by all present. The members had advertised to have a “ball,” but not dance. The statement seemed like a paradox, but they kept their promises all right. - They not only had a ball but they had lots of balls. They were balls of carpet rags, and inside of each was the name of a lady. The men bought the balls and had the lady whose name they found in them, as their partner for sapper. The band was present and fur-

nished music, for which the ladies of the Corps desire to express their thanks. Also to the general public for their patronage. The relief fund of this most excellent society was increased by about S2O as the proceeds of the entertainment.
