“The Girl From Frisco"
Makes a Hit at the Canton, Ohio, Grand Opera House—An Excellent Company. 4 , Myron Leffingwell’s. three act farcial comedy, “The Girl From Frisco,” was presented at the Grand last evening for the first time in this city. The play is entirely new and as presented last night has the power to hold an audience from beginning to end, with its novel and laughable scenes and situations. Ada Melrose sang a catchy little song, “A Little Bit of String,” by which she captivated the audience. Miss Mead, in “Love’s Captives” also made a hit. The other specialties by different members of the company were up-to-date, the most worthy being that of the Golden Gate Quartette. The costumes worn in this production are no doubt the finest ever seen on the stage in this city. The audience however, as is usually the case, while fair, was by no means as large as the merits of the production deserved. —-From Canton, Ohio Morning Journal, Oct. 29, 1897. This company will occupy Ellis’ Opera House, Friday night, Nov. 12.
