MILOY TOWNSHIP.
The long looked for rain and cold weather came at last. Corn husking is the order of the day, the corn is better in quantity and quality than was expected. Every body is busy and more hands needed as quite a number of improvements are being made by way of ditching and fence building. Oar Sharon blacksmith only has time enough to eat one square meal
a day and that in the wee hours of the night; from early morn till late at night he blows and pounds, pounds away.
Henry Beaver an old soldier and long time Democrat, has had his confidence restored by seven months of McKinley’s administration and is erecting a new 6 room house which he has long needed. Chas Slaughter, or Sharon is erecing a new house. A. G W. Farmerhas finished alarge new barn and is now erecting a new house,All this shows a return of confidence and prosperity showing that with the assurance of 8 years of a Republican administration, men are not afraid to put their money outinimprovements, speculations and investments. Mr. Editor, why do Democrats always wait to make their improvements and investments under a Republican administration? R. W. Coates has a small army of men putting in 10 inch tile on the old Hicks priarie. With plenty of good money easy of access and every home industry surrounded by a wall of“ protection why should’nt the American people be prosperous and happy?
