A Raw Dose of Raw Oysters.
Wednesday night,at McCoy’s bank corner, J. G. Cousins, who was loaded outside with a quart of raw oysters and inside with about an equal quantity of raw whiskey, made some sort of a crack at Frank Minikus as he and a companion were walking past. Minikus paid no attention to Cousins and the latter then took the more forcible, way of arresting Mr. Minikus’ attention of throwing the quart of oysters in Minikus’ face. Minikus thereupon proceeded to give Cousins a thumping but before he had proceeded far in the operation, others interferred and stopped proceedings- Minikus then had Cousins arrested for assault, and he was taken before Squire Burnham, and on plea of guilty was fined $2 and costs, 813.50 m all, He has gone to jail and very likely will ornament the rock-pile for the next two weeks more or lees.
