Elder Findley.
In the midst of the service at the Christian church Sunday evening Elder Moore said: “It is doubtless known to all that Brother Findley your former pastor has passed from earth to his eternal reward. It is fitting that there should be some expression of our regard for him. It was not my fortune to know Brother Findley. As Brother Brady has known him I ask him to give a brief address with respect to him and to lead us in prayer.” Brother Brady sketched briefly the character of Brother Findley and his success as a preacher of the Gospel and then offered a prayer for his family that was full of tenderness and power. Brethren Washburn and Cox were asked to serve as a committee to address to Sister Findley a letter of condolence expressive of the love and sympathy which this church sustains for her in her great sorrow.
