Seymour Fails To Get Court House.

The county seat election in Jackson county resulted adversely to the removalists. Seymour the contending town was defeated by nearly three per cent., receiving but fifty seven per cent, of the vote cast. The fight was between Brownstown the present location and Seymour that hoped to get it. The fight was intensely bitter and much bad feeling was engendered. Business has been paralyzed for nearly two months while the people fought and argued on the county seat question. Seymour announces that it proposes to try it agajn at the December term, and the county will be convulsed again, and if beaten there is nothing to prevent them from trying it over and over. Seymour has four times the population of Brownstown, yet could not muster the required sixty per cent.
