A Golden Wedding Anniversary.

The 50th anniversary of the marriage of James and Mary Halleck took place at their residence at Pembroke Monday 18 inst. Mr. and Mrs. Halleck are in full vigor of life, and aged respectively 73 and 66 years. The day was fine and friends came from all points of the compass. There were 4 sons and 4 daughters, 4 son-in-laws, 4 daughter-in-laws, and 24 grand children all present as follows: Hon. A. Halleck, wife and3children; R. E. Halleck, wife and son; Wm. Halleck, wife and 2 children; Charles Halleck, wife and 4 children; T. J. Joyner, wife and 3 children; John White, wife and 7 children; Dr. L. N. Wells, wife and son; Fletcher Bunton; wife and 3 children. The invited guests were David Gleason and family of DeMotte, John O’Connor and family, of Kniman, Joseph Wells and family Lake Village and others. The two large tables in the double rooms were tastefully decorated and full of choicest of fruits, part of which were grown and selected from the Pembroke Nursery. The dinner was elegant. The Presents were of the latest pattern of Klondike dinner set of 125 pieces. James Halleck is the proprietor of the Pembroke Nursery, 2 miles north of Fair Oaks.
