Reed Banta and children are in Chicago with his mother. Wm. Arnott was in town Sunday evening and spent several hours at the hotel. A. C. Albin and family are visiting Mr. Josserand’s this week We have a good Christian Endeavor at this place, Mr. Maxwell is President. Rev. Brady preaches next Sunday at II o’clock. Everybody invited to attend. Robt, Hopkins has returned from a few days visit with his sister in 111., and reports a delightful time. School is now going on as usual with a total enrollment of 51 pupils. One of the flat cars, loaded with

grain, broke down just east of,here this morning and caused some trouble besides delaying the milk train half an hour. The diphtheria in Mr. Gilmore’s family is reported much better and ’tis likely to*stop where it is, as no more cases have developed. There are several cases of typhoid in and around Lee Mrs. Iliff, at that place, who has been an invalid for years, is reported very low with it and little hopes for her recovery. Jno. Phillips went to Rensselaer today. The Literature Club meets this evening. Uncle Mac was out Tuesday surveying the road in front of Hotel. He expects to make it 50 feet clear of trees and west raise there. A crowd from this place contemplates attending church at “Barkley’’ one evening this week, where a protracted effort has been going on for the past week.
