Got the Best of Insurance Company.

Prof. J. Stanley Grimes, author of numerous books on scientiffc subjects, and at present a resident of Anderson is perhaps the only man who ever got the best of an insurance company by honorable means. In 1850 Prof. Grimes took $3,590 insurance in the Mutual Life of New York City. Twenty years ago. the company made a proposition to him to cash the policy at $2,090 or give him an annuity of $4lO a year. He chose tile latter, the company expecting him to live but a few years, as hs was then over 70 years old. The professor is now in his 91st year and to-day received his 20th -check for $4lO since the agreement was made. He has drawn $8,200 and is as hale apparently as a man of 60 years. The professor states that he proposes to live past the century mark just to tantalize the insurance company.
