The Circuit Court.
The court adjourned Wednesday night until Thursday morning. A large amount of probate business was disposed of, several judgements taken by default, and issues made up for trial next week. John Easter, the man who has been in jail for some time for stealing some old harness of Perry Griffith, of Remington, was brought into court Wednesday. He admitted having taken the harness, which he said was worth but little. He made quite a pathetic appeal to the judge and prosecuting attorney for clemency. Claimed that he had
been confined twice In an insane asylum at Columbus, Ohio, and that he has a wife and two children in Ohio and a widowed mother in some western state, and that they know nothing of his present circumstances and that he wants to shield them from the diagrace of knowing. His real name is not Easter
The court took bis case under advisement until his story can be investigated. The case of Daniel M. Watts vs Charles Jones was tried, but not concluded. Watts, who is a Logansport party, sues to foreclose on a threshing machine and some other personal property. The trial of the divorce case of Eben Spinney vs. Nettie Spinney was begun Wednesday afternoon, but continued until Friday.
