Attorney General McKenna issued an official statement announcing that the Government had decided not to appeal to the Union Pacific foreclosure suit, but to allow the road to be sold in consideration of the Union Pacific reorganization committee raising its guaranteed bid from $45,745,059 to $50,000,000. The road, he added, is to be sold to the highest bidder, but with a minimum bid guaranteed as stilted. ■ President McKinley has decided to allow A.
